Nice looking

Gave these to my grandson who likes to build models and he was excited to get them. Look like quality but very light so not for anything other than plastic.

An excellent little nipper

I've used this nipper a few times to clip model pieces off their sprues, and it works well. The handles are comfortable. I like that it has a cap to keep it closed when not in use because this isn't something you want to get pinched by. It took me a little while to figure out what the weird, poking wire was for. Turns out it's for keeping the nipper from opening too far.

But is it worth $23? That's debatable, but it's a good tool, and it's useful to have.

So much better then a bargain bin hardware store find

I’ve done a fair share of models in my lifetime but always used the clippers I would get at a hardware store value bin or something like that. Seen these type of clippers that cost more often but thought how much better can it be than a pair I got now. Well finally had the opportunity to get a pair made just for spruce cutting. Wow is what got to say. These really do make things a lot easier. With all my old pairs of clippers over the years I never noticed much a issue with it cause was used to it, but I’d clip some pieces off a sprue and then have to shave it down or sand the item for a little to make it smooth and even. With these it cuts them almost flush to what I need. Granted may need some sanding here and there but the time it takes and how much better these cut for the job at hand is really a lot better. Like driving a bmx bike and going to motocross, we’ll maybe not that big of change but you def notice how much better these are to the regular store gotten brand for a buck or more. Plus these come with a nice protective sheath to help keep em in good condition. Very glad finally got the opportunity to try a real pair of snippers for my modeling. Who would have thought it be that much better in cutting a piece of plastic.

Good nippers

I build plastic models and have 6 sets of nippers now. They are all about equally good and NONE were over $30 so you can get good nippers without spending a fortune. These are face cutting type nippers where 2 ground cutting edges meet and they are ground and set up perfect out of the package. I was able to cut all kinds of sprue and strip up to .250" wide nice and square with these. They take very little effort and leave only a small amount of cleanup on parts. NONE of my nippers require NO cleanup and I would still hit them with a sanding stick if it looked like they didn't because going back to clean up sprue marks later when you prime is a pain. I can cut nice disks of round sprue like a hockey puck about .50 thick with these. That's good enough for almost any modeler. Don't spend 3 times as much!

A decent set of snips

They feel solid in my hand and snip through sprues, thick and thin, quite easily. It comes with an allen key for the screw that allows you to adjust how much they close. As the blades meet evenly, I'm not sure how it rates on the useful / gimmick scale, but it's there and doesn't interfere with how they work, so, for me, it's a wash.

These also come with blunted tips, maybe 2-4mm. They're cut evenly, so the tips meet, but it may cause issues getting to some bits.

Overall, these are good snips. I look forward to using them to help build many giant stompy robots.
